What a pitty: I couldn't (as intended, and the Ubuntu 4.8.2-maintainers did) build gcc including the d language (configure failed; missing sources in the mirror-release or separate package?).
I omitted building for the java language, because of confusion about some options to specify (to keep the new installation separate from the Ubuntu-version) and trouble in the past when trying; I just don't need it now.LAST_UPDATED: Obtained from SVN: tags/gcc_4_9_0_release revision 209612
