Point 1):
When I did a 'diff' of my last "make -i check" with this revision here is
what I observed (hand edited):
Approximately a half dozen files where altered between these two SVN
revisions.

The "acats", "g++", "gcc", "gfortran", "gnat", "obj-c++", "objc", "libffi",
and "libgomp" tests produced identical results.
The "libjava", "libmudflap" and "libstdc++" tests produced worse results.
If you wish to compile the gcc toolchain you may as well compile revision
124320 instead of 124468.
Point 2):
In the above tests I noticed these lines: "WARNING: program timed out." - my
computer is reasonably fast.
In reference to the first (libmudflap) timeout above, the file

The tests _seemed_ to be working, if only they had more time ... These tests
are longer than some of the others that passed.
Notice that as each successive test uses a higher optimization (-O2 vs. -O3)
it gets further along in the test before it times out. Libmudflap _might_ be
OK.
In reference to the second (libstdc++) timeout above, the file

The "libstdc++-v3 check-abi Summary" results are not getting captured and
output by the mailer script ("../gcc-4_2-branch/contrib/test_summary") due to
some breakage.
Notice that the above tests show that G++ (and objc, obj-c++, etc.) are all
testing quite well (some without error) but the test results indicate many
problems with "libstdc++-v3" - this seems inconsistent with logic, overall the
GCC toolchain works better than these results imply.
My point is that these tests are not perfectly indicative of the fine
quality of GCC 4.2.0 - I was able to compile my kernel with "gcc version 4.2.0
20070501" and it does not crash.
