Build failure for haifa-enabled 2.96 20000619

egcs snapshot 20000604 fails to build on IBM AIX 4.1.5 very early in the
"make bootstrap" process while trying to build collect2.  What can I do
to help with narrowing down this problem?  egcs snapshots have not built
successfully on AIX 4.1.5 for at least 2 months.
