     This has been fixed for GCC 2.95.2 and also current snapshots
     (after adding a "using namespace std;" statement).
     
     I strongly recommend to upgrade to 2.95.x. A most significant
     number of C++ bugs has been fixed there as compared to earlier
     egcs releases. (In fact, we kindly ask bug submitters to first
     try using GCC 2.95.x if possible because of this.)
