 It is now:
 
     9% type perl
     perl is /usr/bin/perl
     10% ./config.guess
     sparc-sun-solaris2.8
     11%     
 
 Still, it wasn't always, and the assumption that perl is /usr/bin/perl is
 not a good one.

 Or replace it with
 
     #!/usr/bin/env perl
 
 which will also Do The Right Thing when perl is in the the path.
