Fix build under "make --no-builtin-rules"

I tried using $(base) but I wound up with a different build error.
When compiling morestack.S, $(base) gets expanded into "unwind-sjlj"
instead of "morestack".  I believe this is because Makefile variables
inside rule bodies are late-bound/expanded.
