I have reverted your patch and the failures

FAIL: g++.dg/debug/dwarf2/static-data-member2.C -std=gnu++11    scan-assembler-not DW_TAG_enumeration_type

are still there.

PS AFAICT the tests are not darwin specific, but do not show on the Intel's bots.
Could it be related to the default -fpic of darwin?
