For Solaris 10 and up, the situation has become simpler since GCC 3.4.3
is bundled with the OS, though I've never tried to bootstrap with that
one since I regularly include Ada, which isn't included.  Perhaps we
can change the wording to

  Since Solaris 10, GCC 3.4.3 is shipped with the OS.  On older
  versions, you can either install a pre-built GCC to bootstrap and
  install GCC.  See the binaries page for details.  Alternatively, the
  Sun Studio compilers are available for free download.
