Yes, I didn't mean to knock Ralf's change, which is definitely better
than it was. And I should have said I'd be willing to do the changes
to 4.4 and 4.5, and that leaving trunk pointing at the unversioned one
makes sense.

You've convinced me :-)
The link breaking was my main concern, but if it won't break then that's great.

I'll get back to fixing actual problems in the docs now ...
