I.e. it fixes a build/bootstrap failure, and for two targets at
that (libjava for one, libstdc++ for the other), status quo
well into the third day now.

I was about to say "+1" but looking at Honza's email for the
patch introducing the regression, there was none, just a commit,
so I guess none is needed now.  Did I understand that correctly?
So, I too say "will commit it later today" unless Honza beats me
to it, as PR44460 notes success for the test-results that Honza
requested.
