PATCH: Fix Solaris/SPARC bootstrap without gas

I don't have access to Linux/SPARC, so I cannot easily investigate
what's going on there.  I'd very much prefer if anyone who does could
have a look.

Which is not an option since it fixes a bootstrap failure.
