Thanks for explaining how Go is set up.
I have one comment about the terminology.

      The Go frontend proper is under a BSD license.

To speak of "a BSD license" tends to cause misunderstandings.  There
are two different BSD licenses, and the difference between them is
important, since one of them would prohibit what we are doing.
