[trunk] Mini merge from lto branch: documentation fixes (1/5)

This patch fixes a couple of comments and documentation.  It also fixes 
a buglet in get_trampoline_type that is only triggered by lto1, but it's 
harmless for the other FEs.

Bootstrapped and tested on x86_64.  Applied to trunk.
