Just as I posted the previous e-mail I saw your suggestion in
bugzilla, so I restarted testing using
convert_bitfield_to_declared_type() instead of fold_convert.

No regressions on x86_64-linux-gnu.  Ok?

BTW, I tested with the new assert, but Jakub suggested it might make
sense at this point in the release cycle to take it out or make it
ENABLE_CHECKING only, or maybe add the assert for 4.4 only.  Thoughts?
