That patch is before my age but I don't understand why you would like -Wdeprecated on by default in C/C++ but off by default in CPP. They should be consistent. And I would favour warning by default. The whole point of deprecating something is to remove it in the future, isn't it? So we better start warning loudly about it. Cheers, Manuel.
