POSIX *should* specify the mapping (and GCC should be usable to implement 
the POSIX "c99" utility).  But XCU ERN 76 is still OPEN in 
<http://www.opengroup.org/austin/aardvark/latest/xcubug2.txt>, with no 
recent discussion on the Austin Group list.
