I agree with you that the flag is consistent with our precedent, and
that we should keep it.
I also think that the patch, as posted, is OK, modulo the documentation
issue that Joseph raised. Mark, please add the documentation for the
flag, wait 48 hours for objections from PowerPC and/or Intel experts,
and then check in. (I did look at those bits, and they look fine to me,
but I don't claim to be the world's foremost Altivec/MMX expert.)
