Any ETA for a fix?

Our internal testsuite has been severely damaged for about 2 months because of 
this problem.  I've provided a reduced testcase that fails on x86, and my 
understanding is that the failure purely comes from a flaw in the patch.
Therefore, I think you should consider temporarily reverting it until after 
you come up with a complete solution.
