I'm a bit indifferent on this one, since I agree with both your
very concrete concerns about this critical bug as well as Mark's
general comments about not rushing a release.

That said, I think we should at least add this warning to the GCC 4.0 
specific pages, and I understand that Mark is fine with that.


Personally, I think we might consider x.y.1 following x.y.0 by one month 
and then stretching the cycle to about two months.  As far as users are 
concerned, for the FreeBSD ports collection I have been tracking GCC 4.0 
snapshots ever since the release, and FreeBSD users thus have received the 
fix very quickly, similarly for major GNU/Linux distributions switching to 
GCC 4.0 I assume.
