Belated patch to gfortran 4.0

Dear All,

If any one of you is in a position to do it, I would be very grateful. 
 After I committed to 4.1, there was a scramble before the last freeze 
on 4.0 and I just did not make it because I was out of town.  I enquired 
subsequently and was assured that it had been done.  I assumed that 
gfortran 4.0 had been synchronised to 4.1.  I am waiting for the taxi 
for another trip, as I write, and so am not in a position to put this 
right myself.  Thank you to whoever takes it on.

PS Jakub, did you ever submit a PR on that namelist testsuite failure? 
 I have been completely unable to reproduce it.
