Many thanks to Eric to confirming that this fix is fine by him.
This is OK for mainline and the 4.0 and 3.4 branches (under the
usual check-in rules).  I believe (according to GCC home page)
that the 3.3 branch is now officially closed.

One minor request, though.  Could you list the bugzilla component
in the PR number in the ChangeLog entry, i.e. I'd prefer PR 23241
to be written as PR rtl-optimization/23241?  Although not fool
proof, the component name can often act like a "checksum" or
"check digit" to help identify (and simplify correction of) typos
in the PR number.
