Jon,

Your patch adds:

I'd change the first part to "GCC 3.4 and later cannot compile this
version of POOMA due to standards ...".

Use two spaces after a full stop (period at the end of a sentence).

I'm no longer a wwwdocs maintainer, but this looks OK to me with
those changes.
