This may still be used by some people, but the 2.x nomenclature got changed
after the 2.7 Beta (the finished product was renamed to Solaris 7).  The
only place where this is used for backwards compatibility is in
config.guess output.

You'll certainly get people confused by talking about SunOS 5.10, since all
the marketing etc. blurb uses Solaris 10.  Sun's constant product renaming
is certainly a nightmare (and more of this may be coming for Solaris 11: it
seems like Sun employees aren't allowed to speak of Solaris 11 since the
name of the next major version hasn't been decided yet ;-).  Obviously
complete nonsense, but I prefer to stay with the official name nonetheless.
