I take it you have a script for this, that can be applied once 3.5/4.0
branches, as translations will continue to be developed, updated and
maintained by translators based on the 3.4 branch only until then?

TP: what is the correct procedure to follow for splitting a translation
domain (in this case, separating some code with translated messages into a
library that may also be used by other software)?  Is extracting the
messages from the source .po files to seed .po files for the new domain,
and then sending those initial .po files somehow to the TP, the
appropriate process?
