Perhaps, although I was building it on older systems a few months ago.
But if someone submits a patch to fix build breakage on 10.1, it seems
reasonable to expect that we would accept it into FSF GCC, while for
the assembler it is extremely unlikely that fixed assemblers for older
systems will ever become available. In any case, version lock is
the / of all evil. :-)
