Indeed.  Given that you've now got the ball rolling, we can probably
treat this patch as an exception as the majority of the patch is just
cut-and-paste, and the new remaining novel intellectual property is
short enough to commit without assignment.

Please resubmit this patch once you've added and tested a testcase.
