But then I have to split the testcases up into individual files, as
scan-assembler can't count or do function specific searches.  I think I
would need about 8 different files for the 12 testcases.

I could do something like scan-assembler "sub1*mov(z|n)*sub2" to look
for an instruction in function sub1, but I don't find that very
appealing either.
