I thought the gfortran manual had just been updated adequately
<http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2004-04/msg00673.html>!  (Of course any
subsequent changes to gfortran prior to merge must follow the usual
documentation and testcase requirements that apply on mainline.)

On the contrary, some existing code may not have been brought up to the
current coding conventions (codingconventions.html) and front end
checklist (in sourcebuild.texi) but new code should follow these from the
start.
