hot cold issues on sparc solaris 9

Hi,

I had to apply the appended patchlet to bring sparc-sun-solaris2.9 back 
to bootstrap land. Don't know if correct. But at least it compiles now.

I fear that other archs are also missing these text issues.

Could you have a look at it please.
