That sounds familiar. It may be what we're using it for (though it
isn't what it's "about" - if it were I would know, since I wrote the
blasted thing :). In that case we should be using AC_NO_EXECUTABLES in
all target libraries, but I'd like to have a concrete example of why in
some documentation somewhere.
