I am forced to agree with you.  Ideally we'd not have the combine
hack that precipitated the failures in the first place, but I don't
think we can remove it without -fnew-ra being the default.

I don't know what to do about the test itself.  Is there an easy
dejagnu way to disable the test without removing it?
