Probably not.  And, yes, the SC know which release branches are active
(and which not).

However, as everyone with CVS write access may generate branches (such
as the rh8 branch, or tree-saa, or the c++-reflection(sp?),...) it is
really not that easy to remain up-to-date on the states of these kind
of branches, that's what I ment.

No, the main web pages should indeed list all of the active release
branches, and cvs.html tries to list other active branches (but isn't
always complete and up-to-date).
