That would be me.  I'm replying to the bug report.  We don't have an 
applicable copyright assignment for the author (only one for g77), so I 
can't accept the patch as is.  It useful bits are trivial though, and it 
needs a major rewrite anyways, so perhaps I can just write a replacement 
patch.
