new real.c implementation

Richard,

I am seeing a bunch of new failures that appear related to the new real.c
implementation.  For example,

FAIL: gcc.c-torture/execute/930106-1.c compilation,  -O3 -fomit-frame-pointer

This is for hppa-unknown-linux-gnu.  All the fails are at -O3.  Don't have
time for any more investigation today.
