I see, it is worth of another round.  I've found the citation, 
 D. D. Sleator and R. E. Tarjan. A data structure for dynamic trees.

I will fix the formating.  I am not sure about the comments, I will
check all non-et functions to have comment, but should I comment the et
trees themselves?  I am not quite sure what to comment on splay function
for instance...
