   No, using a cache doesn't imply a limit in sequence depth.  But
   that is moot, since there is a simpler way: having end_sequence
   return the struct sequence_stack.
Now that you've said this I feel differently.  Why didn't you mention
returning a struct from end_sequence from the beginning?  Are you
willing to implement this?

I'll just toss my changes meanwhile, as I don't have the time to work
on the sequence_stack version, I already put more than a week into
these hacks.
