   The patch should be reverted, taken out and shot.  It's a step in the
   wrong direction.  It increases build time and disk usage without any
   visible benefit, other than perhaps working around some lossage in
   mips-linux-gnu that H.J.Lu ran into.

Let's be more clear.  Yes HJ's patch should be killed, immediately.
This much I agree with.

The memory usage of the libjava link, on the other hand is a _REAL_
problem that ought to be fixed somehow.  It is not some lossage
specific to mips-linux, it will happen on any platform.
