Does this port have a working MD_FALLBACK_FRAME_STATE_FOR?  This is
necessary to unwind through signal handler frames.  Without it you can set
CHECKREFSPEC, EXCEPTIONSPEC as is done for e.g. xscale*-elf:

    CHECKREFSPEC=-fcheck-references
    EXCEPTIONSPEC=
