[tree-ssa-branch] gimplify.c patch reversion

The following patch:

    2002-12-12  Daniel Berlin  <dberlin@dberlin.org>

        * gimplify.c (simplify_modify_expr): Break out constructors
        into multiple assignments.

causes a bootstrap failure when cross-compiling libiberty on the
tree-ssa-branch and so I am reverting it for now.  Dan, I looked, but
could not see any messages to gcc-patches about this patch (let alone
any sign that you had bootstrap tested it).
