PATCH: link check patches

This is the result of my regular link check, including patches for the
libstdc++ and java pages.

David, I tried to find a replacement for the "www.rs6000.ibm.com" link
below, but failed to find one, and the redirect that has been setup for
this page is inappropriate to be linked from www.gnu.org.  If you have
a current link, please go ahead an add it to readings.html. Thanks!

Tim, I assume your patch has been removed from the page because it isn't
current any more and you are going to commit an updated version, right?
