PATCH: PATCH: broken/changed link hunting, 'nough for today

You're right.  The first part, I fixed immediately after commit(ting
an old, incorrect version of the patch), but then I had to quickly
leave my office and forgot to mail when returning. :-(

You're so right. One of the reasons I've been trying to avoid redundancies
like this recently. All of these problems should be fixed by means of the
patch below.

(The problem I'm confronted with regularily is that many of those old
pages contain historical information and lots of markup problems ands
broken links. Now, I don't want to rewrite history, but broken links are
not acceptable either, so usually I try to surgically fix such problems
with a minimum amount of changes and while keeping as much historical
information as possible.)
