Unreviewed patches for 3.0.3

The three patches mentioned in

	http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2001-09/msg01218.html

have not been reviewed in time for the 3.0.2 release, but two of them are
necessary to get gcj/libjava working on Tru64 UNIX, as I've just been
reminded by a user request.

Ok for branch and trunk now?
