I don't know anything about release scripts. But a make && make install
installs the binary files (as gcc.mo). Maybe one have to adjust so that
this filename is changed in the same way as the executables if someone
want's to install several versions of gcc in the same place. I would
prefer if the files were called gcc-3.0.mo, but this seems to be a problem
with most programs. I think the plan is to fix this for gnome programs i
the future so maybe that will become the standard in the future.

I really like to have several versions of programs installed without
conflicts. But maybe that is impossible with gcc anyway and that you have
to install other versions in thier own directorys (like I have now with
gcc 3.0pre)
