[C++ patch]: Fix 2.95 regression

Jason's patch at http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2001-07/msg00287.html
fixes the 2.95 regression reported in http://gcc.gnu.org/cgi-bin/gnatsweb.pl?cmd=view&pr=3529

I think it should go on the 3.0 branch too.
