OK, thanks - that's the info I lacked; I thought that if the support
wasn't there all bets were off.  Apparently that's not the case.

In the mean time I found it: Sources with fflush and rewind also have to
be compiled with the flags mentioned - even though they do not have `64'
pendants.

I'm going to commit the rest now, as I draw no more testsuite failures.
