'build by default = no' sounds like a good idea. I'm happy to add that in.

On the doco, I was originally told that no texi was required at all. I
acknowledge that the documentation while adequate is capable of  further
improvment.

I guess it may be better to put it into 3.1, as that would save having to
port it later on. But if there is a consensus the other way, that's OK.

I am happy to be the maintainer of treelang.
