I do hope/think so! I've already had some first contact with the Java
folks and IMO this move/merge should happen in time for GCC 3.0.

If anyone is interested in helping there, please contact the maintainers
of the corresponding module (Java, libstdc++ v3) and me. I definitely am
much in favor of a tighter integration.
