Thanks for speaking up.  In fact, last night this patch (and my response)
came to mind, and I wondered if I should have more explicitly said I
approve it, because I hadn't noticed it being applied.

Thing is, it changes an area of the compiler I'm not an expert at,
but I guess it's okay for me to approve something with a purpose with
which I generally agree, leaving others to clean up any breakages
it introduces.

(Boy, am I glad I don't have to *read* that sentence!  ;-)

So, yes, I say put that patch in!
