Buglet in your ChangeLog entry

    Ok, though at least in terms of function entries, I have been doing it
    for 10+ years, and it was certainly common practice when both Stallman
    and Kenner were the lead maintainers.

I have mixed feelings about that.  I certainly understand the argument about
being able to search for functions, though it's hardly a new one. My own
preference had been to try to make ChangeLog entries as small as possible
to cut down the bulk of the file so it could be more easily "read". I
understand these two goals are in conflict.
