Well, just to reinstate, gcc-2.95 needs a binutils snapshot (or, with some 
restrictions, binutils >= 2.9.1.0.23) to _build_, even without without your 
patches, both on powerpc-linux-gnu and powerpc-linux-gnulibc1. So I think 
it makes more sense to require recent binutils. I can build an official 
update RPM for DRR1.0 with a current cvs snapshot later today, and the SRPM 
will build on powerpc-linux-gnulibc1 as well. I just don't see the need for 
this in gcc-2.95, a backport to egcs-1.1.2 would possibly make sense, but 
for gcc-2.95 it's simply superflous IMHO (and this includes the 
powerpc-linux-gnulibc1 platform as well).
